Marc J. La Magna

Marc brings over twenty years of private equity investment, project financing, and investment advisory experience to Turnstone Capital Management.  Marc focuses on the firm's investments in IT, media, and clean technology.  Marc represents Turnstone as a board member of clean tech solar start-up Morgan Solar , 3D printing company, LUXeXceL Holdings B.V., long-range wireless company TruePath Wireless. Marc also works closely with its India-based platform operating company Turnstone Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and has been advisor to several start-up ventures.

Marc has represented Turnstone's interests in TitanTV Media as a Board Member prior to its sale to Broadcast Interactive, and acted as the lead transaction sponsor in the formation and initial funding of dMarc Broadcasting prior to its eventual sale to Google (Nasdaq – GOOG).  Marc leads the firms strategic direction, which has expanded into sourcing and investing in growth stage private equity, secondary transactions, and cross-border opportunities..

While at Turnstone, Marc was a co-founder and helped incubate Cedar Lane Asset Management LLC, an ABL hedge fund established to target the entertainment sector.  Marc helped seed and grow the fund to over $120M in assets before it was wound down as a result of the 2009/10 credit crisis.   

Prior to forming Turnstone Capital and Cedar Lane, Marc served as Managing Director of Acquisitions at eColony – a $100 million early stage venture capital group formed by Internet Capital Group (Nasdaq – ICGE), where he helped architect the firm’s investment strategy, source and execute investments in internet based technology companies, and served on its Investment Committee.

Marc has held asset management roles at leading investment firms as J.P. Morgan, NationsBanc Montgomery and The Prudential Investment Corporation, where he focused on LBOs, cross-border private debt placements, and power project finance. His international experience includes management study at IESE in Barcelona, Spain and investment advisory work for The Prudential in London, England.

Marc received his BA in Economics from Yale University and earned his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth, earning the Tuck Scholar distinction.  Marc resides in West Norwalk, CT.
